His grandfather disappeared several years ago, and granny Mia tells him that he left to journey to the secret land of the Minimoys, a tribe of millimeter tall people they discovered while spending their younger days adventuring in Africa. The live action is colorful and well shot, with gifted child actor Freddie Highmore playing an imaginative grandson named Arthurt living with a lonely grandmother played by Mia Farrow. The film is a mix of live action and computer animation.
